Got windows registry error on my vista yesterday..Just format it,i say in my mind..but what about the files in my hard disk?need to back them up..especially my well comp assignment..after surfing and searching, i found a solution..using ubuntu..
- first you need an ubuntu disk..i got myself 3copies of that, sent to me by ubuntu, all the way from Netherlands back in 2007..old version,so i downloaded the newest version from here.
- Burn it on blank cd,and boot it..choose “Try Ubuntu without any change to your computer”.

- choose Places and click Computer from the menu.
- plug in your USB drive and start the transfer.
- done.

well, after transferring my important documents and my 50gb download folder(which in the end 30gb of that deleted),playing around with ubuntu..linux illiterate like me,only last like 1hour,then switch back to windows os..
and now back using xp until the download server back..then switching to vista..
